Hey

Our free kids workshop, Feelings Adventure at Yishun Public Library on 1 November 2025 was a joyful celebration of emotions, gratitude, and creativity! We were thrilled to welcome around 20 children and 10 parents for an hour of storytelling, music, and mindful fun with Pooja and Chloe the Unicorn from Rainbow Kiddies.

Storytelling & Emotional Play

Pooja kicked off the session with a lively storytelling segment, helping little ones explore different emotions through voice, actions, and expression, while talking about our story “Understanding Emotions“. Kids didn’t just listen—they performed! Together, they acted out feelings through movement:
💛 Skip-hop for happy
💙 Grab your feet for sad
❤️ Jump high for excited!

The room was filled with giggles, curiosity, and imagination as children learned to connect emotions with their bodies and express what they feel in healthy ways. They also got to grab their favorite Rainbow Kiddies character’s Halloween mask for volunteering to demonstrate the various walking styles to all the participants. Kids just loved them and attended the rest of the session in their masks. It was such a cute sight to behold.

And yes, we also talked about empathy, did a mindful breathing exercise – blowing out our imaginary birthday candles. Then we had a surprise for our curious listeners.

Dancing with Chloe the Unicorn

Next came everyone’s favorite part—music and movement!
Chloe led the group in a cheerful sing-along and dance to When I’m Angry and I Know It, a fun and educational song from Rainbow Kiddies that teaches 8 different ways to handle anger.
The kids loved showing their moves while learning valuable emotional-regulation skills.

The “Thank You Flower” Craft Activity

Since November is the month of Thanksgiving and gratitude, we turned our usual Feelings Flower into a special Thank You Flower activity.
Each child drew their own pretty flowers, and named everyone in there ,who they are thankful to/ for. Then Chloe proudly showcased some of the completed flowers, celebrating everyone’s creativity, gratitude and kindness.

Take-Home Learning & Parent Resources

Every participant went home with:

  • 🎨 A coloring sheet to reinforce the day’s lesson
  • 📝 A Parent Tip Sheet on continuing emotional learning at home
  • 📚 And a few families even brought home Rainbow Kiddies storybooks to keep the magic going!

We’re so grateful to all the families who joined us for this wonderful session. The laughter, participation, and warmth in the room reminded us why we do what we do—helping kids grow emotionally strong and kind-hearted, one story at a time.

Thank you, Yishun Public Library, for hosting us—and to every parent and child who made this session truly special!
Stay tuned for our next Rainbow Kiddies workshop—because every feeling deserves to be understood and celebrated! 💕
