Hey

On 31st May 2025, Rainbow Kiddies and The Green Capsule came together for a heartwarming and hands-on Storytelling + Terrarium Workshop for Kids and Families at the Funan Mall, and what a beautiful day it turned out to be!

From wide-eyed wonder during the awareness session about reduce, reuse and recycle, to muddy little fingers carefully building their own miniature gardens, the workshop was a joyful blend of learning, laughter, and love for the Earth.

We discussed about sustainability, how to reduce waste, reuse toys and even about how recycling waste works in Singapore. We talked about Semakau landfill and how it can be saved. Kids came up with interesting suggestions and thoughts throughout the session. They were all excited to meet Chloe. Chloe was around while they got to building their cute little terrariums too. The kids seemed to loved the connection with nature, even if it was in a very small way. We hope to see these Earth heroes make wiser choices as they grow.

Thanking Time

We would like to thank Green Capsule for this collaboration and for hosting our first ever workshop. It was arranged smoothly and went really well too. A big thank you to our dear friends and other who came for the workshop with their families, and also bought some of our most loved books. We cannot thank you enough for the support and your valuable feedback.

This was our Invite!

weekend activities in Singapore with kids - workshop with rainbow kiddies, the green capsule

Highlights of the Day:

Engaging Storytelling

Pooja Subramanian, Founder of Rainbow Kiddies, captivated young minds with a sustainability-themed story that brought environmental values to life. Through storytelling, kids discovered how even the smallest actions—like switching off lights or planting a seed—can make a big difference for our planet. We also discussed about how waste is handled and disposed off in Singapore

Terrarium Crafting Fun

With expert guidance from The Green Capsule team, children created their very own terrariums. It was more than just a craft — it was a tactile lesson in responsibility, care, and ecosystem balance. Many kids proudly declared them their “little green world!”

Eco Tips for Everyday Life

Throughout the session, children and parents explored easy ways to go green at home, in school, and in their communities. From recycling games to simple pledges like “No plastic waste!” — the takeaways were practical and memorable.

Bonding Over Nature

Perhaps the most rewarding part? Seeing families engaged together — asking questions, laughing over muddy hands, and walking away with new memories and a tiny ecosystem to take care of.

Why It Matters?

At Rainbow Kiddies, we believe emotional development and environmental awareness go hand in hand. By nurturing empathy not just for each other but also for nature, we’re raising kinder, more responsible little humans.
