Moon Learns Travel Etiquettes in a Metro is more than just a story about travel etiquettes. This story is all about being kind and spreading kindness. We see how Moon learns about how to help and care for fellow travelers while in public transport, in this case it being a metro. The insights shared in this story could be equally useful while travelling in a bus or even while being seated at a bus or train station.
Also, stories like these will help kids understand:
- why it is important to be kind,
- how kindness is reciprocated, and
- how it impacts others and themselves.
Such stories will inculcate in kids the virtue to value lives of their fellow beings and self. Values like these will take them a long way, and will definitely make our world a better place to live for generations to come.
Values shared in the story
During a journey in metro, when it is too crowded, and Moon and her mom are looking for some space, a boy and his mother come to their rescue. They thank them for the kind gesture. Moon’s mom also uses the opportunity to tell Moon about how she could also be kind while travelling or taking public transport. She tells her that it would be more than appreciated if she gives up her seat or makes some space for someone in need. This could be:
- a pregnant woman
- injured or handicap person
- aged person
- small children
- anyone holding a child
She also specifies that sometimes people might not seem unwell, but might badly need to sit. So, if someone requests to make more space always be happy to make space for people. She also gives some suggestions on how to make more space, like moving bags under the seat, holding toys or kids in your lap, etc.
